BUSH  HILL  FARM  IXOPO    2022

Bush Hill Farm, R56, Ixopo:

2022.

This was a temporary contract to advise a family guest farm business in ways to recover from the effects of the Covid 19 pandemic.

There were 4 parts to the agriculture project:

  1. Herb/pottager garden outside kitchens - this remained unchanged.

  2. Open field monoculture - recommendations were submitted to change to an interplanting system, to replace a single crop butternut, green peppers, and spinach rotation.

  3. Shade house - mostly salad plants for the restaurant were planted, nothing was changed.

  4. Blueberry hedges - the crop was poor, and nothing could be done to increase the 2022 year's yield.
